Boro visited League Champions Dorking for the last match of the season knowing that only a win would secure second spot and guarantee home ties in the play offs. Boro started well and Nouble was a constant thorn with his dangerous runs through the heart of the Dorking defence and only some desperate defending and good keeping kept him out . Akinwande was also a menace with his strength although it was easy to see why Dorking were so far ahead of the chasing pack as they were so comfortable in possession ,switched play with ease and had willing runners on both wings.The opening goal arrived on 6 minutes courtesy of top scorer Prior as a left wing cross from the impressive Richards was deflected off the head of Buchanan onto the head of Prior who made no mistake from close range. Boro pushed and were impressive in their search for an equaliser and having forced a number of corners it seemed that an equaliser was on the cards. Richards missed from close range and Huk in the Dorking goal had to be alert to save from Richards and then Nouble. On 38 minutes Dorking doubled their lead after another swift break this time down the right wing where the cross found Buchanan who controlled well and fired past Pajetat. 2-0 half time
Boro again pushed from the beginning of the second half in search of a way back into the game. Boro did leave themselves exposed however and on 55 minutes Prior could have put the game to bed although he inexplicably hit the post when scoring appeared to be an easier option . With this let off Boro continued to push and were rewarded with a penalty on 72 minutes when Della -Verde was felled in the area. Nouble stepped up but his poor kick was well saved by Huk . Richards had time to hit the post again for Dorking and although Huk saved well from Della Verde there was no way back for Boro. Results elsewhere ensured Boro finished in 3rd position securing a home play off against Tonbridge Angels on Thursday 2 May 19.45 ko
