Boro made the short trip across London to the impressive Bromley stadium where Cray share and should have felt at home with the similar looking synthetic pitch. That is about where the similarities ended however as Boro were unable to replicate their home form on their travels.
A tame start from both sides with very little happening although Cray shaded the opening 20 minutes but nevertheless Pajetat in the Boro goal was not troubled. Boro came into the game and began to gain a foothold. Solomou coming close when put clean through on goal however the unseen push in the back as he shaped to shoot knocked him off balance and he shot wide. Better was to come however moments later when Froxylias picked up the ball , cut in from the right hand side and curled a wonderful effort into the top corner . Boro began moving the ball around with purpose in search of a second goal however it was not to be and at halftime it was 1-0 and all to play for.
At the start of the second half Solomou was again put clean through and with the keeper to beat pushed his effort wide and this seemed to be a turning point as Cray came back into the game, began to dominate possession and create chances . Dent tried his luck from long range however he hit the ball well over the bar. That was merely a sighter for his next effort which Pajetat miraculously saved tipping over the bar at full stretch. More woe for Cray as Taylor then hit the inside of the post with a header and just when it looked like Cray’s luck was out they were awarded a very soft penalty for what appeared to be an innocuous tug of a shirt . Taylor comfortably stroked home and thereafter Cray were very much in the ascendency and but for a couple of further excellent stops by Pajetat Cray would have claimed all 3 points .
