A hard fought and as expected close match against a very decent Margate side who will be disappointed they did not come away with something from the game.
Boro held sway early on and McDonald had an early chance when springing the offside trap but failing to beat the on rushing Tupper in the Margate goal . Tupper was at it again soon after when he saved a Rakim Richards effort from a corner . However there was little he could do on the stroke of halftime when he was beaten by a deflected shot after Akinola showed some fleet footwork to carve an opportunity and his effort towards the far post was deflected inside the near post . 1-0 Boro halftime. Boro came out with plenty of purpose at the start of the second half and showed good intent to try and add to their slender lead. Coby Rowe struck the base of the post with an excellent free kick and after substitute Onokwai was introduced he used his renowned pace to trouble the Margate back four .As the half wore on and Boro failed to add to their tally Margate began to exert more pressure and began to get a foothold. Pajetat making a couple fo fine saves , Stone clearing off the line and Margate forwards failing to apply a finishing touch to some good support play . Froxylias still had time to force another fine save from Tupper with a well struck free kick but Boro managed to hold on and secure their first victory in the league since 31 August
