Boro succumbed to the vastly more experienced and full time professionals from Yeovil Town at the second time of asking before a boisterous crowd of home supporters and a few away fans who made the long journey from the South West. There was very little to choose between the teams once again and Yeovil managed to take the lead with virtually their first meaningful attack after 30 minutes in rather scrappy circumstances as Dagnall put the finishing touches to a goal mouth melee. Boro had themselves an early opportunity when Nelson saved well from a powerful Sambu header . Whilst Yeovil had the majority of possession they couldn’t fashion any more clear chances before the half time whistle .0-1 and all to play for . Early in the second half Boro came mighty close when a fantastic through ball from the impressive Aresti found Froxylias in acres of space and clean through with just Nelson to beat. As the crowd held their breath and Froxylias positioned to shoot Nelson pulled off a fantastic save with his legs and the rebound just evaded the onrushing Ademiluyi. Chance gone and Boro’s hopes were gone a few minutes later when Wilkinson climbed highest of all to score from a corner and moments later a fortunate rebound after another corner fell to Dagnall again to prod home. 3-0 to the away side and despite Boro pushing forward and creating some decent chances they couldn’t breakthrough . Man of the match Nelson saving well again twice from Rowe free kicks in the closing stages . A fantastic performance from the Boro boys and one that we should all be proud of. To have stretched a former league side so far in both games is a true testament to the character of this side and hopefully we can take this strong showing forward to our forthcoming league matches
